Values In Action
We believe we have a significant responsibility to serve our local communities. Some of our many community activities include:
- Establishing Exceptional Kids, a 501 (c) 3 a social and recreational club, serving children with special needs in a number of cities in Colorado (www.exceptionalkids.org).
- Developing an electronic training program on working with the developmentally disabled population for high school students who desire to volunteer with special needs community programs.
- Serving on community and faith-based advisory boards.
- Assisting in the development of a new faith-based developmental disability service agency that is constructing a new residential campus.
- Producing a Colorado conference on “Caregiving in the 21st Century” that was attended by over 250 people from 50 different organizations featuring national experts in a variety of innovative caregiving areas.
- Serving on U.S. Congressional committees on aging and disabilities.
